Purpose

Nomad Small Business Inventory Pro extends Inventory Free with purchasing, receiving, reorder planning, supplier pricing and valuation reports. It is built as an add-on and requires Inventory Free to be installed and active.

Pro is designed for businesses that need control over what they order, what was received, what is still outstanding, and how stock value changes over time.

Installation and dependency

Install and activate Nomad Small Business Inventory Free first. Then upload and activate Nomad Small Business Inventory Pro.

If Free is missing or inactive, Pro will show an admin notice and its Pro screens will not run as a separate stock engine.

Licensing

Open Small Business Inventory > Pro License. Enter the license key and activation email, then activate the license.

The Pro license stores status, expiry date, activation site and last validation response. If the license becomes inactive, Pro shows a clear admin notice.

Purchase orders

Use Purchase Orders to order stock from suppliers. A PO contains supplier, PO number, order date, expected delivery date, status and line items with ordered quantity and unit cost.

PO statuses support draft, sent, partially received, received and cancelled workflows.

Goods received notes

Goods Received Notes capture what actually arrived. You can receive a PO fully or partially, record received quantities, and let the system increase stock for each received line.

Partial receiving keeps the PO open until all lines are received or manually closed/cancelled.

Low-stock reorder planner

The Reorder Planner shows items below reorder level with current stock, reorder threshold, preferred supplier and suggested reorder action.

Create a draft PO from a low-stock item and adjust quantities before sending it to the supplier.

Stock valuation

The Stock Valuation report calculates current quantity multiplied by cost price to provide an estimated stock value.

Use this as an operational valuation view. Final accounting treatment should be confirmed through the accounting setup and any accountant-specific requirements.

Supplier purchase history

Supplier reports show purchase orders and receiving activity by supplier so the business can see where stock is being purchased and at what cost.

Supplier price tracking gives a useful history of recent purchase costs per item.

Accounting Pro readiness

Inventory Pro includes hooks for future Accounting Pro supplier-bill creation from purchase orders and goods received notes.

Accounting Pro already consumes Inventory Free stock availability for invoice warnings and paid-invoice stock reduction. Supplier bills and accounts-payable posting remain a next build item.

Release checklist

Before using Pro live, confirm Inventory Free is active, license is active, suppliers are clean, item SKUs are unique, opening stock is correct, reorder levels are realistic and the first purchase-order workflow has been tested end to end.

Troubleshooting

If a GRN does not increase stock, confirm the PO has valid inventory items on its lines and that the received quantity is greater than zero.

If Pro pages do not appear, confirm Inventory Free is active and the Pro plugin is not blocked by dependency checks.
